CCA’s 2023 Mobile Carriers Show Heads to Pittsburgh May 2-4

CCA’s 2023 Mobile Carriers Show (MCS 2023) takes place in Pittsburgh, PA this year, May 2-4, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Known as the show “where the carriers are,” MCS 2023 will feature an educational program, numerous networking opportunities, and an exhibit hall. Keynotes and awards will be live streamed.    

The keynote program kicks off on Wednesday, May 3, with “Limited Spectrum Raises Many Issues for the Future of Wireless Carriers” with panelists discussing which spectrum bands are of most interest to CCA carriers, the most pressing spectrum policy issues, spectrum sharing, auctions and auction authority, and more. Speakers include John Hunter, Senior Director of Technology & Engineering Policy; T-Mobile, David Zylka, CTO, Carolina West Wireless; and Linda Hardesty, Editor-in-Chief, FierceTelecom Group. The keynote panel is sponsored by T-Mobile.

Following the opening panel, speakers from Nokia and Syniverse will take the main  stage. Jason Elliott, Head of Cross Portfolio Solutions, Partners, and Ecosystem Marketing; and Fayyaz Patwa, VP, Sales Engineering, Nokia will explore the exponential potential of networks and the connected future. Next, Bob Chiodo, SVP – Americas Carrier Division, Syniverse will discuss the need for stronger industry partnerships with the rapid advancement of mobile technologies. 

The exhibit hall opens at noon with lunch and networking with some of the most innovative companies in the wireless industry. Round table discussions also will take place in the exhibit hall featuring expert moderators leading conversations on key topics including fixed wireless access, CBRS deployments, FEMA and small carriers, loyalty programs, enterprise deployments, smartphone repair strategies, and the FCC’s broadband data collection. 

CCA is hosting a special round table for new and potential members on the many ways to benefit and participate from membership with the association. From access to an incredibly talented policy team to committee participation, business development opportunities, and networking events, attendees curious to learn more about CCA should join this discussion.

Day two of the conference begins with CCA’s 2023 Excellence in Marketing Awards presentation. Each year, CCA recognizes its members’ most effective and innovative marketing campaigns. The membership votes, and the winners take home top accolades for their work in radio, TV commercials, print ads, online ads, and animated online videos. Ericsson will deliver the first keynote of the morning, followed by a keynote panel, “Strengthening Business Relationships: Unique Offerings for CCA Members,” moderated by Kim Caronchi, SVP of Industry Development & Membership of CCA. Speakers include Mark Harms, Director of Client Technical Solutions, Award Solutions; Jeanne McDowell, Account Manager, IDI Billing Solutions; Mike Reed of UNITEL; and Ron Willett, VP & GM of CMS, ClearSky Technologies, who will share strategies in maintaining customer loyalty and expanding business opportunities.

The MCS 2023 educational program will feature executives from Ace Towers, Amazon Web Services, Award Solutions, Bolt Solutions Inc.,Carolina West Wireless, Galooli, Hemphill Towers, Mobi, Nokia, UScellular, and Viaero, among others, who will explore policy issues, best practices in marketing, fixed wireless access, commercializing 5G in rural America, and more.
