T-Mobile Customer Base Gains MomentumComments Off on T-Mobile Customer Base Gains Momentum
T-Mobile and some analysts found a fair amount of good news regarding their customer base in the Q3 results. Barclays telecom analyst Amir Rozwadowski said “continued subscriber momentum,” pointed to branded postpaid phone net-adds of 843,000 new customers and total net-adds of 2.312 million. Prepaid net-adds came in at 595,000, compared to the 411,000 reported for the same quarter last year. Rozwadowski said T-Mobile “also delivered ongoing improvement in churn,” which came in at 1.46 percent, compared to 1.64 percent during 3Q14. “We note that churn was up from 2Q15 by 14 basis points, but we believe this is primarily a reflection of a seasonal step up in competitive pressure during the quarter.
”The analyst also noted that T-Mobile provided updated guidance for 2015, reporting, “management now expects branded postpaid net-additions of 3.8 to 4.2 million (the company had previously guided to 3.4 to 3.9 million) and while maintaining adjusted EBITDA expectations of $6.8 to $7.2 billion.”
