On Tuesday, August 20th, the residents of Sherman, Connecticut approved spending $15,000 for a study to be conducted on the infrastructure required to provide cell phone service in town.
The News Times reported that, “During a well-attended town meeting Friday, the decision was reached to have do a companion study to the emergency services communication study the company did for the town three years ago.”
The town meeting was held after AT&T submitted a proposal to construct a 170-foot cell tower on Coots Hill Road. The study is going to determine if there are additional sites where this equipment can be installed in order to better help emergency responders as well as other possible locations for cell towers to be located.
