Comments Off on Communications Tower Approved in Medina, New York
On Monday, official in the village of Medina, New York gave approval for the placement of an emergency response communication tower. Jim Krencik of The Daily News reported that, “The Village Board unanimously approved a ground lease with Orleans County Monday that allows for the installation of a 120-foot transmission tower next to the village’s water tower. It will be utilized in an effort to strengthen communications in populated areas and expand coverage in the western corners of the county.”

The communications upgrade to the county will hopefully be completed by next year. This new project includes a high-speed communications connection between the county’s emergency management office and public safety building and re-banded radio equipment for the fire, police, and emergency response units.
